£ 1.8million Dinton Pastures activity center has opened

A new activity center for a popular country park in the region has opened.

The Dinton Pastures Country Park activity center in Hurst opened on the bank holiday weekend.

The activity center serves as a base for park visitors to book activities, boat rentals and nature strollers, and also has a cafe and locker room for those who enjoy water sports.

Photos from the opening show a family marveling around the two-story center and the sunset over the park.

The center was built by the Wokingham Borough Council.

An article announcing the news on the council’s Facebook page said: “The brand new Dinton Activity Center at Dinton Pastures Country Park opened to the public this holiday weekend.

“The center is still being finished, but it’s great to see visitors having fun in this incredible new facility.”

It is understood that the work mentioned in the Facebook post will be completed by Saturday September 11.

The centre’s initial designs were criticized when they were revealed in November 2019.

This prompted the board to return to the drawing board, with the new designs approved in August of last year.

The activity center also has 86 parking spaces.

The opening of the center is not the only big news coming from Dinton Pastures either.

In June, the council launched a process to find a catering operator to run a restaurant at the Dragonfly Café in the park.

The Local Democracy Information Service asked the council for an update on the catering operator procurement process, but has yet to receive a response.
