Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice: Teen Movie Virtual Tour
TWO teenagers cared for by a children’s hospice in Maidenhead have created a special video.
Aaron Sennick, 19, and Habibah Tariq, 14, who both have forms of muscular dystrophy, filmed a virtual tour of Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice to highlight how much fun children and their families are having there -down.
This was launched to mark Children’s Hospice Week, a national awareness week that ran from June 20-26.
Both Aaron and Habibah are supported by Alexander Devine and go for regular visits as well as home help.
Aaron talked about how he was able to take on filming independently and why it was so important to him to create this tour video.

He said: “Alexander Devine has been supporting me and my family since I was 12 and I wanted to do something to give back to the charity for all the amazing care they gave me and to my mother over the years.
“Working in the media has always been a passion of mine, so it has been an absolute pleasure to use my skills to help the association.”
Aaron added that the couple wanted to show what it’s really like in a children’s hospice.
He said: ‘A lot of people think of a hospice as a sad and depressing place, but as you can see the reality is quite the opposite.
“I recorded all the video on my iPhone independently.
“I can’t raise my arms due to my condition, so I use the voice command feature which is implemented in my phone’s operating software to control it.
“I’m so thrilled with the release of the video and hope it shows how uplifting and fun it is at Alexander Devine.”

Habibah explained that she had “a lot of fun” filming the tour and said it was an experience she “will never forget”.
“My visits to the hospice are always magical and fun-filled,” she said.
“I always look forward to my visits and check the calendar for empty slots so I can get some cheeky extra visits.
“The hospice really supported me with my baking and now I’m ready to participate in the junior bake-off.”

Habibah added that due to her condition, she cannot travel far, which is why she spends a lot of time at the hospice.
She said: “The support of Team Alexander is the best thing I have ever experienced and no words can express the place the team holds in my heart.”
Fiona Devine, CEO and co-founder of Alexander Devine Hospice, thanked and congratulated the teens for creating such a special video.
“It’s such a special video that really gives a glimpse into our world and the reality of what our children’s palliative care service is all about,” she said.
“We absolutely love it and are so grateful to Habibah and Aaron for taking the time to create this virtual tour.
“We know this is already having an impact thanks to all the wonderful messages from families and supporters.”
