Bargains at home: Hundreds of shoppers expected to flock to new store
The new Home Bargain’s was launched today (26/2) in Bracknell and everyone was on hand to welcome enthusiastic buyers from across Berkshire.
The discount giant’s doors opened at 8am this morning with queues of people waiting in zero degree weather to get their first glimpse.
Hundreds of shoppers are expected to bombard the store and the question on everyone’s lips is what the discount retailer will offer in Bracknell.
The News had the privilege of getting a first look at the store before it opened, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
A local resident, Tamsin said: I think it’s been really good so far. Compared to Reading which is much smaller, you have a lot of other things you don’t have there, like clothes and other bric-a-brac.

“Just having it on my doorstep is amazing that I don’t have to come all this way. We don’t need something like that here because we don’t have something as good. .
A shopper from West Ruislip drove all the way to Bracknell this morning to see what the new store had to offer. She said: “It’s the biggest I’ve seen so far. I miss my bargains at home, so I thought I’d come to this one.”
Dani from Wokingham said: “It’s lovely, it’s a lot bigger than the one I normally go to. The test will come back when it’s not opening day and we’ll see what it looks like then.
Another local shopper, Tracy Cook, commented: This is a lovely new addition to Bracknell and will really go with the rest of town. I love this kind of stores and have been looking forward to it since Christmas. It’s so nice to have it at your doorstep.

A Bracknell shopper mentioned there was a problem with the carts, but with the huge range of products up for grabs, she said it “kept her at a limit, which is probably a good thing!”
