Berkshire coronavirus cases increase by 85 overnight as infection rates rise in three regions
According to the latest figures, 85 more cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Berkshire.
According to the latest figures released by Public Health England, there have been 22 more positive Covid tests in Reading alone in the past day.
That brings the total number of positive cases in the city to 11,555 since the pandemic began in March of last year.
West Berkshire and Wokingham have also seen an increase in Covid cases over the past day with 15 and 18 positive tests, respectively.
That means Reading has the highest infection rates in the county with 94.6 cases per 100,000 people through June 10. During this period, there were 153 positive cases.
The national infection rate stands at 69.9 cases per 100,000 people with 39,321 cases last week.
The government said 10 more people died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, bringing the UK total to 127,917.
Separate figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that there have been 153,000 registered deaths in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The government also said as of 9 a.m. on Tuesday there had been an additional 7,673 laboratory-confirmed cases in the UK.

Here are the latest seven-day rolling coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people for the week ending June 10:
- Reading: 94.6 (instead of 85.9 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 35.7 (instead of 30.4)
Slough: 86.9 (instead of 90.3)
Bracknell Forest: 80.8 (instead of 90.6)
Wokingham: 85.3 (instead of 92.9)
West Berkshire: 27.1 (instead of 25.9)

- Reading: 11,553 cases (+22)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,683 cases (+5)
Slough: 16,028 cases (+14)
Bracknell Forest: 7,418 cases (+11)
Wokingham: 8,725 (+18)
- West Berkshire: 6,621 cases (+15)

How many people have been vaccinated against Covid?
Government data up to June 14 shows that of the 72,040,763 injections given in the UK so far, 41,831,056 were first doses – an increase of 132,627 the day before.
Some 30,209,707 were second doses, an increase of 235,928.
