Berkshire coronavirus cases spread fastest in 18 neighborhoods

As Europe locks in, increasing UK cases are causing growing concern.
Germany is debating stricter measures for unvaccinated citizens while Austria enforces strict lockdown rules.
Here in the UK, ministers have yet to take such drastic action. Meanwhile, in Berkshire, most neighborhoods are seeing a significant increase in the number of cases.

Cases in Berkshire are on the rise as the country rushes to administer booster shots ahead of what health officials predict will be “the worst winter in history.”
Windsor and Maidenhead
The borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has seen a huge spike in cases, with 782 people currently infected with the virus. Of those people, 196 have tested positive in the past seven days. The case rate is 516.9, as the number of positive test results increases by 33.4%.
Furze platt
Furze Platt has seen the largest increase of any neighborhood in the Royal Borough, as 15 more people test positive for the virus, generating a 57% increase in cases.
The nearby Maidenhead highway has seen a 54% increase, with 26 more people testing positive for the virus. The total stands at 74 cases in the past seven days.
City of Windsor and Eton
There has been a 92.9% increase in cases, as an additional 13 people test positive for the virus. The total number of cases is 27. The case rate is 377.7.
Reading
In Reading, there has been a 42% increase in cases, with 635 people testing positive for the virus in the past seven days – 186 more than last week.
Southampton Street and Redlands Road
Cases in this area have doubled, with the neighborhood experiencing a 113% increase in cases. The case rate is currently 458.7, with 47 cases in total. Twenty-five people have tested positive in the past seven days.
Norcot North
Norcot North has seen a seventy percent increase in the number of cases, with the case rate reaching 520.7. Seventeen other people have tested positive for the virus in the past seven days, bringing the total number of cases to 41.
Tilehurst North
Tilehurst North has one of the highest case rates in the borough – with 43 people currently experiencing the effects of the virus – but only three other people have tested positive in the past seven days, meaning that the percentage increase is 3%.
Wokingham
Neighboring Wokingham sees a 22.5% increase in cases as 124 more people test positive for the coronavirus. The total number of current cases stands at 675, with a case rate of 388.1.
There has been a 69% increase in cases in Wokingham Road, as nine more people have tested positive for the virus. The total number of cases currently stands at 22, with a case rate of 278.
Woodley East
Cases in Woodley East have doubled in the past seven days, with the total number of cases reaching 53. Twenty-nine people tested positive last week. The case rate is 659.6.
Wokingham North and Hurst
There are 33 cases, including 11 people who tested positive in the past seven days. The number of cases has increased by 50%, with the case rate currently standing at 426.7.
Bracknell Forest
Bracknell Forest has had 546 cases in the past seven days, 99 more than last week. The case rate currently stands at 439.7. The borough has the fewest cases anywhere in the county.
Priestwood
Priestwood has seen a 64.7% increase in cases over the past week, with the total number of cases reaching 28. Eleven other people have tested positive for the virus and the case rate is 410.6.
Wick hill
Wick Hill has seen cases more than double as 38 people have tested positive for the virus, bringing the total to 73 cases. The case rate is 727.2.
Birch Hill and Hanworth East
There are 59 cases of the coronavirus in Birch Hill and Hanworth East, while 26 others have tested positive for the virus. The case rate is 784.6 after a 78.8 percent increase in cases.
Hanworth West
Hanworth West has seen 12 more people testing positive for the virus, with 33 cases in total. The case rate is 485.2 after a 57 percent increase.

West Berkshire
West Berkshire is also experiencing a high number, with 738 current cases. Over the past week, 155 people have tested positive, an increase of 26.6%. The case rate is 465.7 for the district.
Kintbury and Boxford
Kintbury and Boxford saw the county’s biggest percentage increase, as 22 people tested positive for the virus. The case rate is 499.4%, with a total of 32 cases.
Newbury North West
Another 19 people tested positive for the virus, resulting in a 79.2% increase. The total number of cases is 43, with a case rate of 554.1.
Municipality of Burghfield
Cases at Burghfield Common have more than doubled, with 29 people testing positive for the virus. The total number of cases is 48, with a case rate of 811.5.
Quagmire
In Slough, 556 people currently have the virus, and 46 more have contracted it in the past seven days. The case rate stands at 371.7.
Manor Park
Manor Park currently has 51 cases of the coronavirus, with 30 people testing positive last week. There was a 142.9% increase in the number of cases, resulting in a case rate of 464.1.
Hay Mill and Lynch Hill
This neighborhood currently has 41 cases of coronavirus, after an increase of 57.7% in the past seven days. 15 other people have tested positive for the virus. The case rate is 418.6.
