Berkshire Covid-19 at latest with 19 new cases recorded and infection rates rising in three regions
Another 19 cases of the coronavirus have been recorded in Berkshire – while weekly infection rates have increased in three regions, according to the latest figures.
The latest data from Public Health England from Thursday, May 13, shows Slough has seen the biggest increase in the last 24-hour reporting period, with six new cases.
The total of new cases is down from yesterday’s update when there were 24. There were 32 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, weekly Covid-19 infection rates rose slightly in Wokingham, Windsor & Maidenhead and Bracknell Forest in the seven days leading up to May 7 – although numbers remained low in Berkshire.
However, West Berkshire and Slough both have infection rates above the UK average of 22.1 per 100,000 population.
No new hospital deaths linked to Covid-19 have been recorded in NHS trusts serving Berkshire.
Across the country, the government said 11 more people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, bringing the UK total to 127,651.
Separate figures released by UK statistical agencies show that there have been 152,000 registered deaths in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
At 9 a.m. as of Thursday, there had been 2,657 more laboratory-confirmed cases in the UK.
This brings the total to 4,444,631.

- Bracknell Forest: 7,125 cases (three new cases)
- Reading: 10,999 cases (four new cases)
- Slough: 15,622 cases (six new cases)
- West Berkshire: 6,452 cases (two new cases)
- Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,556 cases (three new cases)
- Wokingham: 8,290 (a new case)
Here is the latest data on the total number of deaths in NHS trusts in and around Berkshire:
- Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 1248 (no change)
- Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 501 (no change)
- Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 32 (no change)

Government data up to May 12 shows that of the 54,797,640 jabs administered in the UK so far, 35,906,671 were first doses – an increase of 184,210 the day before.
Some 18,890,969 were second doses, an increase of 452,437.
