Berkshire Covid Latest As Almost 400 New Cases Are Reported

There has been another increase in coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours in Berkshire, with 397 more positive tests reported according to the latest figures released today (Friday, July 23).

The daily figure is down from Thursday’s increase of 480. The largest increase – with 88 new cases – was recorded in Windsor and Maidenhead.

The second highest was in Wokingham where there were 79 new cases, and the third was Reading with 70 other infections.

The highest infection rate is still found in Bracknell Forest, where there are 612.8 cases per 100,000 population, although this has declined slightly, while the other five regions of Berkshire have each seen their rate. to augment.

Nationally, at 9 a.m. on Friday, there had been 36,389 other laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the UK, the government said.

As of Friday, 64 more people had died within 28 days after testing positive for Covid-19.

This brings the UK total to 129,044.

Separate figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that there have been 154,000 recorded deaths in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

Government data up to July 22 shows that of the 83,239,491 Covid injections administered in the UK, 46,476,845 were first doses, an increase of 43,000 the day before.

Some 36,762,646 were second doses, an increase of 174,742.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending July 18:

  • Reading: 394.4 (instead of 376.4)
  • Windsor and Maidenhead: 416.1 (instead of 391)

  • Swamp: 304.3 (instead of 290.9)

  • Bracknell Forest: 612.8 (instead of 618.5)

  • Wokingham: 393.9 (instead of 377.5)

  • West Berkshire: 399.5 (instead of 373.6)

  • Wokingham: 10,604 (+79)

  • West Berkshire: 8,191 (+60)
