Berkshire drunk driver caught speeding by police

POLICE officers have been busy stopping speeders after a day of action last week.

Thames Valley Police Special Roads Police targeted areas around Berkshire on Friday June 3, following concerns raised about local residents speeding.

And a speeding driver stopped by officers was found to be three times over the drink-driving limit.

Here’s where they went and what action they took.

Richings Road, Iver, Slough

Three vehicles were stopped there for speeding, including one caught speeding 41mph in a 30mph zone.

Waltham Road, Maidenhead

Seven vehicles were stopped for speeding. The fastest recorded was 51 mph in a 30 mph zone.

This driver and another caught at 50mph have been reported to court.

Park Road, Bracknell

Seven other vehicles were stopped for speeding on this highway.

A driver will appear in court after being caught speeding at 54mph on a 30mph road.

Another driver was flagged by officers for speeding at 42mph.

When they took a breath test, they were found to be three times over the drink-driving limit.

They were arrested and taken directly into custody.

A police spokesperson said: “We will continue to listen to local feedback and monitor community concerns and, where appropriate, take action against those who continue to pose a danger to those who use the roads.”
