Berkshire region coronavirus infection rate exceeds 570 cases per 100,000 people
There has been another significant increase in overnight coronavirus cases in the county, with a new record of positive tests, according to the latest figures released today (Wednesday).
The daily figure is down from Tuesday’s increase of 605. The largest increase – with 97 new cases – was recorded in Wokingham.
The second highest was in Bracknell Forest where there were 86 new cases.

The highest infection rate is still found in Bracknell Forest, where there are 576.1 cases per 100,000 people.
There were also 83 recorded cases each in Windsor and Maidenhead, 80 in Reading and 71 in West Berkshire.
The smallest increase was recorded in Slough, where there were 63 cases.
As of 9 a.m. as of Wednesday, there had been 44,104 more laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the government said.
As of Wednesday, 73 more people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19.
This brings the UK total to 128,896.
Separate figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that there have been 154,000 recorded deaths in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
Government data up to July 20 shows that of the 82,793,310 Covid injections administered in the UK, 46,388,744 were first doses, an increase of 39,035 the day before.
Some 36,404,566 were second doses, an increase of 161,279.

- Read: 365.3 (from 330.1 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 357.3 (instead of 318.3)
Slough: 273.5 (instead of 238.7)
Bracknell Forest: 576.1 (instead of 496.1)
Wokingham: 350 (instead of 319.1)
West Berkshire: 349.6 (instead of 308)
