Condoms cleaned at the A404 by Maidenhead litter pickers
Litter collectors were surprised after finding condoms and a knife while cleaning up areas, including at a notorious former dogging site.
About 20 volunteers, known as the Green Team, made their Sunday available to clean up trash thrown by pedestrians or motorists on Route A in Burchett’s Green, Hurley and Temple.
According to the organizer, Councilor Mandy Brar (Lib Dem: Bisham & Cookham), 11 bags of garbage were collected during the garbage collection from Burchett’s Green village to the A4.

However, they had a few surprises.
Cllr Brar said she found signs of sexual activity at Temple stop A4 after discovering condoms on the tarmac, which had been thrown away.
The layby near the Temple Golf Club has been used over the years as a meeting point for people who wish to have casual sex at night.
She said, “I organized the garbage collection and we also made the disposal at Temple and there were activities and activities there.

“We bought condoms and stuff like that. There is so much trash there and the parking lot is in terrible shape with really big potholes.
Another discovery was a knife found in a bush in Burchett’s Green, which volunteers turned over and reported to police.

No more “crater” potholes
In the rest area, several potholes – which have been described as “large craters” – were also found completely filled with rainwater.
Cllr Brar said she reported these issues to the freeways for repair.
