Covid rates in Reading, Slough, Wokingham, Bracknell Forest, Windsor and Maidenhead ahead of the Platinum Jubilee holiday

Covid-19 cases continue to fall in Berkshire and the rest of the UK – with all coronavirus restrictions now lifted in the country. Many people across the country will gather with friends and family to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, which features a four-day weekend from Thursday June 2 to Sunday June 5 to mark 70 years of Queen Elizabeth’s reign. The latest figures from Public Health England – released on the evening of Tuesday May 31 – show the number of new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Reading has fallen by 25% week-on-week. The area saw 117 new confirmed cases in the seven days to May 26, down from 40 the previous week and giving the Reading Borough Council area an overall infection rate of 73.0 per 100,000 people.
The Slough Borough Council area currently has the lowest Covid-19 infection rate in Berkshire – at 47.5 cases per 100,000 people. Slough saw 71 new confirmed cases in the seven days to May 26, about the same as the previous seven days.

At the other end of the scale, Bracknell Forest currently has the highest coronavirus rate in the county, with 99.1 confirmed cases per 100,000 population. The region recorded 123 new cases in the week to May 26, down 12.8% from the previous week.
There have been 124 confirmed cases of coronavirus over the same seven-day period in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. This is a drop of 5.3% from the previous week and leaves the region with an infection rate of 82.0 per 100,000 people.
The borough of Wokingham saw the number of confirmed cases fall by 18% week on week. The region had an infection rate of 75.9 per 100,000 people in the seven days to May 26 – with a total of 132 new confirmed Covid-19 cases.
The Covid-19 infection rate in West Berkshire stands at 72.6 per 100,000 people. This equates to 72.6 per 100,000 people – with a total of 115 new cases in the seven days to May 26.
