Covid teleworking measures could be announced tomorrow

Working from home could be recommended from tomorrow as the number of cases in Berkshire hovers around 139,000 since the start of the pandemic – with more than 780 diagnosed on Tuesday.

This is the situation in Berkshire according to the latest figures.

How many people have tested positive for Covid?

As of Tuesday, December 7, 780 people in Berkshire reported a positive Covid-19 test.

This equates to 147 in Reading, 121 in West Berkshire, 157 in Wokingham, 127 in Windsor and Maidenhead, 94 in Bracknell Forest and 134 in Slough.

This brings the total number of cases in Berkshire since the start of the pandemic to 138,885. The area that has seen most cases is Slough, with 27,605 through December 6.

Reading reported 25,860, Wokingham 24,392, West Berkshire 20,449, Windsor and Maidenhead 22,591 and Bracknell Forest reported 17,988.

The current weekly rate per 100,000 in Berkshire is 596.9.

How many people died?

According to government figures, one person in Berkshire died in the week of November 20-26, the latest figures available.

The previous week, November 13-19, six deaths were reported in Berkshire.

In total, until November 26, 1,931 people unfortunately died from Covid-19.

Most of these deaths occurred in hospital – 1,325. A total of 435 people died in a nursing home, while 121 died at home and 36 in a hospice. There are six deaths that do not fit into these categories and are classified as “other”.

How many people have been vaccinated against Covid-19?

Figures released by the NHS each week break down the number of Integrated Care System (ICS) vaccinations. In our region these are Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire ICS (which includes West Berkshire, Reading and Wokingham) and Frimley Health and Care ICS (which covers Royal Borough, Slough and Bracknell as well as parts of Hampshire and Surrey ).

The Bucks, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West ICS have administered 3,108,681 doses to date, while Frimley Health and Care ICS has administered 1,298,188 doses. This includes the first, second and third booster doses.
