STRADIVARIUS is rightly a warm order to reclaim his Group 2 (3.35) Paddy Power Yorkshire Cup title on Friday.
John Gosden’s star stayer lifted this contest in 2018 and 2019, but was absent for the success of Spanish Mission – the race fell to COVID-19 in 2020 – 12 months ago. Frankie Dettori’s mount was beaten behind Trueshan at Longchamp (Prix du Cadran) and Ascot (Long Distance Cup) in its last two starts of last season, but fast ground at York prompted its Alan King-trained rival to go elsewhere – and Stradivarius can profit.
Few juveniles have made a more impressive start to the season than MIAMI GIRL at Newmarket last month. The youngster of Richard Hannnon is the opening choice of the Listed Knights Solicitors British EBF Marygate Fillies’ Stakes (1.50).

Miami Girl jockey Rossa Ryan claims a one-two with GIRL ON FILM in the Oaks Farm Stables Fillies’ Stakes (3.00). The move to a mile and a quarter should benefit ROGUE BEAR in the Paddy Power “I Love Steak” stakes (3.00), while NEW COMEDY, two out of two after scores at Southwell and Haydock Park, has the untapped potential to defending his undefeated record in the Paddy Power “Fill Thi Boots” handicap (4.10).
At Newbury, SILVER SAMURAI is taken to lean on a third when he fell six furlongs last time out to lift the Coolmore Stud Handicap (2.05) the same distance.
