Latest Covid figures in Windsor and Maidenhead amid October lockdown rumors
The UK could be put in place for a ‘firewall’ lockdown in October if hospitalizations for Covid continue to rise.
The government reportedly drew up plans for another lockdown in October after a senior government scientist revealed the UK was on the verge of entering “an extended peak”.
After speaking to SAGE, newspaper i reported that the October semester could be extended to two weeks rather than a week.
While a full lockdown is unlikely, it is reported that some travel restrictions may be reintroduced.
A full lockdown would be considered a last resort, but an extended school semester until early November could be used to stop hospital admissions.
Face coverings could also return as the government considers a return to social distancing and a limit to social gatherings.
Amid those reports, we’ve summarized the latest Covid-19 numbers from Windsor and Maidenhead.

In the seven-day period leading up to September 2, 363 cases were reported, up from 317 the week before.
During the same period, 278 people in Slough have tested positive for Covid-19.
This was down from 308 the week before.

80 new cases were reported over the weekend in the Royal Borough.
113,463 residents of Royal Borough had their first Covid-19 jab.
The second total dose is 103,323.
First 95,401 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been distributed to residents of Slough.
82,304 received their second dose.
352 deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate have been recorded.
