Lunch has been voted the country’s least favorite meal, according to a new study commissioned by British rice brand Tilda. The survey, carried out in collaboration with OnePoll, explored the lunch habits of 2,000 people across the UK and found that almost a third of Britons ‘miss’ their lunch and eat the same dish four days a week.

Despite being considered the most boring lunch options, 63% of Britons turn to salads, sandwiches or soups for their midday meal, as they generally describe their lunch routine as simple, basic and repetitive . Anna Beheshti, Head of Marketing at Tilda, said: “Our research revealed that people are looking for tastier (40%), healthier (36%) and tastier (33%) lunches, but convenience and time are a barrier to this, most people currently only spend an average of 15 minutes preparing and eating their lunch.

Respondents predict that they currently have an average of three expired products in their kitchen, largely because they forgot items or don’t need a whole ingredient they bought to create a specific recipe. The most common obsolete products in people’s kitchens? Unfinished or expired vegetables, bread and cooked leftovers.

Anna continued, “Given the rising cost of living, we especially want to encourage the nation to create tasty dishes by simply combining ready-to-heat rice packs with what they already have at home and might have. -to be forgotten – from condiments to leftover meat and vegetables. .
