Maidenhead MP Theresa May celebrates the reopening of The Rose pub
A MAIDENHEAD pub has had a facelift as it celebrates its opening under new ownership today.
The Rose pub on Kings Street has reopened to the public after being refurbished by new owner Ashwin Roda.
The pub, which was bought two weeks ago, is now ready to offer Indochinese cuisine, offering a mix of Indian and Chinese flavors to customers.
To mark the occasion, MP Theresa May stopped to cut the ribbon and congratulate Roda on her purchase of the pub.
Ms May said: ‘Nowadays we see so many pubs closing, it’s great to see The Rose pub open, refurbished and with great ideas for the future.
“There is a new restaurant setting up here and it will be a great benefit for people downtown.”
Mr Roda, who also recently bought The Rising Sun, in Hurley, said the plan was to give the area a new look.
He said: ‘The plan is to work with neighbors working on controlling sound levels and providing our community with a nighttime venue.
Mr Roda said: ‘I hope to get a good following for the pub and a good reputation for the pub in general.’
