Man arrested on suspicion of murder of Sabina Nessa
A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of teacher Sabina Nessa, Metropolitan Police said.
The suspect was arrested Thursday at an address in Lewisham and is being questioned in custody.
The force released CCTV footage of a man walking through Pegler Square, Kidbrooke, the night Ms Nessa was attacked, as well as an image of a silver vehicle they believe he has access to.
Chief Detective Inspector Neil John, Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “Our team has worked tirelessly to find the person responsible for Sabina’s murder and this has included extensive CCTV trawling, work that continues. .
“We ask anyone – especially those in Kidbrooke and the wider Lewisham and Greenwich area – to carefully review these footage to verify if you know who this man is or if you’ve seen him in recent days.
“Any information about her identity or whereabouts could be vital to our investigation, so we ask that you share this image on a large scale to ensure that as many people as possible see it. “
Ms Nessa, 28, was walking to meet a friend at a pub in Kidbrooke, south-east London on Friday on a trip that should have taken just five minutes when she was fatally assaulted near Cator Park.

His body was found near the OneSpace Community Center at Kidbrooke Park Road in the Royal Borough of Greenwich around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
This is the second arrest made by the Metropolitan Police in connection with the attack.
On Saturday, detectives arrested a man in his forties on suspicion of murder, who was later released under investigation.

Ms Nessa’s cousin, Zubel Ahmed, previously said her parents were “inconsolable” after their loss.
In an interview with the BBC, he said: “We are all really devastated. Her parents are absolutely shocked, they are still inconsolable and understandably, to hear that their daughter has been taken from them by a cowardly man is just horrible.
“Honestly, she was the most caring person, the nicest, sweetest girl you could ever meet. Sabina’s heart was as good as gold, she never hurt to say anything about anyone. He will miss his sister so much.
