Newbury hammer thrower Charlotte Payne selected for UK team
NEWBURY hammer thrower Charlotte Payne has been selected to represent Great Britain U20 at Loughborough International this weekend.
The action will take place on Sunday 23 May, and with the U20 European and World Athletics Championships taking place this summer, the competition provides a great opportunity for athletes to gain valuable experience in a competitive environment in the prestigious British waistcoat.
In women, Payne was selected after obtaining the U20 global and European standards.
Payne, who is part of the British Athletics Futures Academy program, hopes to consolidate his seventh place at the U20 European Championships in 2019.
Last year she improved her personal best to 63.92m at the British Athletics Championships in Müller.
The event, which kicks off at 11 a.m. on Sunday, will see student teams from Wales, Scotland and Loughborough also field teams with guests also competing in the individual and relay races.
Meanwhile, Team Kennet had the three Kuijtens brothers compete in the Milton Keynes duathlon on Sunday.
Ethan finished 7th and was 6th man overall in the Under 13 age group, Reuben was 15th and 13th man in Tri Star 2, while Josh was 4th and 3rd man in Tri Star 1.
