Slough man arrested after Mercedes crashed into Wokingham Clarks store

Police are calling for witnesses and information after arresting a man from Slough following an accident that severely damaged a Wokingham shoe store.
A silver Mercedes E250 burst into the Clarks store in Market Place shortly after midnight on Friday, December 10.
The car was then removed from the wreckage of the store – the brickwork and store facade suffered “significant damage” – and was driven towards Bracknell.

Shortly after, Thames Valley Police officers in an unmarked police car discovered a heavily damaged silver Mercedes stationary on the side of London Road.
A 25-year-old man from Slough has been arrested for dangerous driving, drunk driving, driving without insurance and failing to comply with the accident – he has since been released under investigation.
PC investigating officer Peter Screen, based at Loddon Valley Police Station, said: ‘I ask anyone who witnessed the collision or has CCTV captured it to please come forward.
