Shavonne has been a nurse for almost a decade.

Shavonne said, “After two years as a Community Staff Nurse, I started the one-year Specialist Practitioner District Nursing Course in Bracknell. I then returned to Slough as a qualified district nurse.

“Even though I didn’t get great grades in college, I worked really hard. My speaker said she came to me because of my resilience and because I was the most improved student.

“The course is very difficult but you just have to be super organized. Even with young children, it is doable.

“I would love to be prescribing and aiming to be a Queen’s Nurse, but most of all, I want to be able to teach and help others.”
