Thames Valley Police get £ 400,000 for safer streets
THAMES Valley Police have been awarded over £ 400,000 to make some of Berkshire’s safest streets against crime.
It comes after the government pledged more than £ 18million in funding to 40 regions in England and Wales in a bid to make them safer.
Money from the Safer Streets Fund will be used to crack down on crimes such as burglary, vehicle theft and to install CCTV cameras on streets deemed dangerous.
Thames Valley was one of 40 regions to receive a share of the funding.

The third round of the fund also opens on Thursday, giving authorities another chance to bid for an additional £ 25million for 2021/22, which will focus on projects to help women and girls feel more secure. safety in the street.

According to data from Police.UK, statistics for the last month (April) reveal the roads with the most reported crimes.
Statistics show that 219 crimes were reported in Bracknell in April.
Crimes defined as “violent and sexual offenses” accounted for the highest proportion of these reports (93).

Statistics show that 427 crimes were reported in Reading in the Battle / Abbey area in April.
Once again, violence and sexual offenses was the highest recorded crime by Thames Valley Police with 135 reports.
