The pubs of Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead that you must visit
While pubs are expected to welcome punters indoors again next week as lockdowns are further relaxed, many people are starting to plan where they will enjoy their first pint inside.
1. Crown and cushion
The crown and the cushion at Eton take the first place.
After accumulating 129 “ excellent ” ratings, the highest available, out of 187 reviews, this is the most popular pub in our region according to Trip Advisor.
One happy punter wrote: “Whenever we’re in Windsor we always try to pop into this lovely pub in Eton.

2. Queen Charlotte
Second in the list is Queen Charlotte in Windsor.
Queen Charlotte received a total of 81 “excellent” ratings and 75 “very good” ratings out of a total of 195 reviews.
Many reviewers have praised the selection of gin available at the pub, and one reviewer said: “I have been here twice while visiting Windsor because it was so close to the hotel, if you like your gins, it is a challenge to visit.
“Has a huge gin menu and reasonably priced prices.
3. The art of piper
With 68 excellent reviews out of the 100 submitted, The Piper Art takes the bronze medal on this list.
A reviewer in October wrote: “We stopped here for a ‘quick half’ and stayed for a few seconds while trying a whiskey.

“Lovely modern bar with an excellent lady behind the bar for whom nothing was too much trouble.
“Nice place to visit.”
4. The Earl of Cornwall
The Earl of Cornwall from Slough takes fourth place on the list.
It garnered an impressive 72 excellent reviews out of 110 total ratings.
One satisfied customer said: “I stayed at the Holiday Inn and visited Cornwall County on our first night.
“The staff were amazing, the food was amazing. Great atmosphere. So good that we decided to come back the second night.
“Such a good night again.
“With fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Research.
“I have to meet the owner and such a lovely man. The owners and staff should be proud.”
5. The long barn
Finally, the long barn in Slough is completed.
It garnered far fewer reviews than others on this list, but with 15 out of 16 reviews being “ excellent ” – this is clearly a high quality pub.
