The Tilehurst assault saw the former partner grab a woman by the throat and push her against the wall
A woman’s former partner grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against the wall during an incident on a street in Reading. The victim, who is in his 30s, was pushed to Langley Hill, Tilehurst, against his will before being pushed against the wall.
A number of passing car drivers attempted to intervene but backed down after the assailant intimidated them. Thames Valley Police have made an arrest following the incident, which happened around 9pm on June 5, but are continuing to urge witnesses to come forward.
Investigating Officer Detective Constable Jen Jenkins of the Domestic Abuse Investigation Team, based at Reading Police Station, said: ‘I appeal to anyone who has witnessed this incident to contact us. Also, if you have any CCTV footage in the area or dash cam footage if you were in the area at the time, I would also ask you to check all recordings in case they captured anything something that might help our investigation.
