APPROVED plans to demolish two houses for 18 flats are just one of many planning decisions or requests submitted to local authorities in Slough, Windsor or Maidenhead this week.

To view more details on each request, go to the respective council’s planning portal with the reference number attached.

The block will have up to four floors and will include a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments.

Only nine parking spaces are offered, but as the site is on the edge of the city center the developer believes owners can access public transport.

Thirty-one bicycle parking spaces are included in the program.

One tree will be lost during the redevelopment process, but the developer says it will plant three new trees of “better quality” than the existing one.

Sketch plans for the construction of a new barn have been submitted to Pinto Fields Farm, Fifield Lane, Winkfield, Windsor (21/03743/OUT).

Royal Borough planning officers are only considering the proposed barn ladder at this stage, which will be used as a storehouse for hay, feed, bedding and machinery.

The applicant asks if council would accept the application “in principle” before investing further in preparing and submitting a full planning application.

Pinto Fields Farm is a total of 6.56 acres comprising of stable buildings, a 40m x 60m lighted arena, horse walker, bark paddock and fenced pastures. The facilities are operated as an equestrian boarding business.

The planning statement states: “There is currently no place on the farm to store machinery and as such the machinery is therefore either stored outside leading to degradation and increased maintenance costs, or brought to the site, resulting in increased traffic movements.

If approved, the plan is to demolish the existing open hay barn and replace it with a new steel portal barn. The proposed barn will cover a floor area of 166.42 m².

Plans refused for developer to erect 15 meter 5G mast at Alma Road and Frances Road junction, Windsor (21/03397/TLDTT).

Candidate CK Hutchinson Networks (UK) Ltd is back with another application to install another 5G mast in Windsor as it continues its telecommunications rollout.

The Windsor and Eton Society objected to the scheme, fearing that the pole and its surrounding cabinet “constitute a visually incongruous and prominent feature in the area” and could visually impact the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and the statue of the King Edward.

Royal Borough planning officers agreed with the group and decided to refuse the request.

They said: ‘The proposal, by virtue of its location and appearance, would add visual clutter to this prominent corner site to the detriment of the street scene and detract from the setting of adjacent heritage properties, namely the king ranked in grade II. Edward Hospital building and statue of King Edward.

“In addition, the proposal could damage adjacent trees and would not preserve the visual amenity of the green corridor identified in the neighborhood plan.”
