Two Newbury men are facing charges after police seized multiple firearms and drugs in South Middlesex and West Elgin, according to provincial police.

Two Newbury men are facing charges after police seized multiple firearms and drugs in South Middlesex and West Elgin, according to provincial police.

Investigators seized firearms, cash and illegal and prescription drugs Nov. 19, the Elgin Ontario Provincial Police said Thursday.

A 37-year-old Newbury man is facing a series of charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, involving substances such as cocaine and oxycodone, possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm and ammunition, and three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, among others.

A 39-year-old man from Newbury is also charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking

Both men are scheduled to appear in court in St. Thomas at a later date.
