Windsor, Maidenhead and Eton Christmas lights lit and the celebrities attending
Details of the Christmas light-on events in Windsor and Maidenhead have been revealed and include the presence of many sports celebrities.
The Maidenhead Christmas lights will be turned on Saturday, November 27 at Town Hall.
While the Windsor Christmas lights come on on Saturday, November 20 and feature various food and entertainment stalls.

In Eton, there will be a lighting event on November 18 and a magical procession at 6.30 p.m. with Santa Claus, followed by the lighting of the Christmas lights in Jubilee Square at 7 p.m.
This year, the Maidenhead lights will be lit by local GB Team Olympians Moe Sbihi MBE and Jack Beaumont and Paralympian Jeanette Chippington MBE, while the Windsor event will see the cast of the Jack and the Panto cast visit. Beanstalk at the Theater Royal Windsor.
In Windsor, there will also be a live entertainment program starting at 3 p.m. with Christmas carols and community booths before the lights are on at 5:30 p.m.
Likewise, the Eton event will feature food stalls, fairground rides, music and dancing before the lights are turned on by Olympic rower and diffuser Sir Matthew Pinsent.
In Maidenhead, most of the festivities will take place in the town hall and the lighting of the lights will be followed by fireworks at 6pm.
How much does parking cost?
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council said there will be free parking in Windsor, Eton and Maidenhead during these events.
There will be free parking at Maidenhead on Saturdays and Sundays from November 27 to December 26, including Christmas Day itself, as well as public holidays on December 27 and 28 and New Years Day.
Those attending the event can park in council-managed car parks at Nicholson’s, Magnet, Grove Road, West Street and Hines Meadow / Stafferton Way.
In Windsor and Eton, residents and visitors will be able to park free of charge from 4 p.m. for Christmas lights-on events, which apply to parking lots in Alma Road, Alexandra, King Edward VII, Romney Lock / Home Park, Victoria Street and Eton Court / Meadow Lane.
There will also be free parking at these same council-run car parks in Windsor and Eton from 4 p.m. for nighttime shopping evenings on December 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21 and 23, and on the day of Xmas.

Which roads will be closed?
At the event in Windsor on Saturday, November 20, there will be road closures on Castle Hill, Thames Street and High Street starting at noon.
Councilor Andrew Johnson, Head of Council and Cabinet Member for Business, said: “These magical light-up events, the late-night shopping nights and the addition of free parking incentives in downtown parking lots, will provide a much needed boost. for retailers and buyers during this peak period.
